LostNaut: Alien Onslaught is a retro FPS where you have to fight off an infinite horde of aliens that will stop at nothing to kill you. There isonly one objective and that is to blast as many of the aliens as you can before you die. You are armed with a singe laser pistol that will blast an alien to bits with a single shot. Though the enemies are weak, they come in high numbers so you must be cautious. There are no health packs, no checkpoints and no backup....Survive.

Taking heavy inspirations from classics such as DOOM and Duke Nukem to more recent entries such as Warhammer 40k Boltgun and using them as references to drive the creative direction.
Here is a little behind the scenes on the Player Character, The Lost Naut, and the enemy The Alien
This what the game looked like when I was first devolpingit. I used this space to test out the mechanics and functionality of the weopon, AI enemies and Health systems.
When designing the Level as well as the gameplay, I wanted to create a sense of urgency and make the player keep moving. I looked to games like Call of Duty Zombies and Halo's Firefight modes to help inspire this type of gameplay.
A big thing kept in mind was that I did not want the character find them selves too cornered all the time so I made sure to design a map that you could constantly run circles with and use certain choke points such as doors and hallways to escape the overwhelming horde of aliens.
